I was reading about plagiarism to understand what It is
Here I came across various quotations:
🏵 Originality is undetected plagiarism: William Ralph Inge.
🏵 To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research: Steven Wright.
🏵 To copy others is necessary, but to copy oneself is pathetic: Pablo Picasso.
🏵 All Ideas are second-hand: Mark Twain.
and then I read a letter by Mark Twain addressing Helen Keller: LINK 🔗
“The kernel, the soul — let us go further and say the substance, the bulk, the actual and valuable material of all human utterances — is plagiarism.”
Finally, this quote put a full stop to my assumptions:
"Where there is creativity, there is plagiarism": Unknown.
Now, what I think is either we all borrow the idea, or we steal it.
Legends copy-paste it.
What do you think about plagiarism?
